#UPB11: Join this Charlie in a Box from Misfit Island with Ultimate Blog Party 11

Welcome!  I’m posting a little early because I need to post again as I’m hosting Fiction Friday.

Whether you find me early, on April 1 or during the first week of April, I’m so glad you’re here.  This is the Ultimate Blog Party ’11 where moms across the world are posting and linking back. It is THE party to be at with prizes and so much fun. Check it out and participate!

I’m Julie Arduini and I’ve been blogging since December 31, 2006. How do I remember the date?

It’s the day I surrendered fear and decided to write for God no matter what.

So…this blog has been a journal of sorts encouraging readers on all things surrender.

Since I started blogging God blew doors open for me. I realize I’m not the best writer, but I am a called one. Because He called, I trust Him to equip me. I have several contributing author credits and write for a few cyberplaces.  I’d love for you to grab my virtual mocha and venture around my site. You’ll find I’m an avid reader and keep bookshelves in case you want suggestions. I also have a Kindle so I have a shelf for that, too.

I love free things, don’t you?  Well I have a free gift for you here on the site. I am living proof that article can change lives because it has changed mine. Please feel free to implement the article into your life.  (The links take you to the main page for that topic, you may have to click on menu to receive the article)

Besides the writing thing, I love to speak. I just wrapped up facilitating a Made to Crave small group through my local church and am working on another study that will help people break free from life controlling issues. My heart no matter whether I speak or write is to encourage others to find freedom through surrender.

I’m smart enough to know that surrender has to start with me. So I’m the first to let you know I’m surrendering the good, the bad, and—maybe one day—the chocolate.

I’m a wife, mom and step mom to two adult children. God gave me a passion for marriage and I love encouraging all marriages to choose oneness. I write monthly for both Adding Zest and the Internet Cafe Marriage CounterPlease note that Adding Zest is a Christian site that encourages married wives in the bedroom.  It does contain adult content I don’t recommend children having access to.

I’m not a party girl, in fact the joke is I’m the Charlie in a Box from Misfit Toy Island. I’m pretty intense to be around but no one is going to believe in you like God does, and I love telling you that. I don’t take myself too seriously though—I’m not afraid to confess that I am literally grieving the end of Smallville. I love all things Superman/Clark Kent/Lois Lane. I also love watching NCIS, Parenthood and my hubby and I love to watch Hawaii 5-0 together. I’m from Upstate NY but I’m sick of the NE Ohio snow we keep receiving. I love lilacs, office supply stores, Beth Moore Bible studies, taking nature pictures and Christian book stores.

I think that gives a good glimpse of the girl who was born on Good Friday with tornado warnings, true story.  If you’d like to learn more, click here and here to keep track of my writing and speaking. Please note, if you confirm your subscription for my newsletter you receive a free short story, Discovering Nancy Struthers. Please add Julie Arduini: The Surrendered Scribe to your inbox to ensure confirmation.

What’s your story? You can dance around here as long as you want because my high octane coffee will do that, or, you can grab a chair and chat. I love listening to what you have to say and comments are most welcome!

PARTY ON!

trackback

[…] Julie Arduini writes at The Surrendered Scribe and she's an "old friend" (albeit younger than me ) as I used to link up my Thursday News for Boomers and Seniors with her back when she was doing a News Meme. She no longer does the meme, but we continue to enjoy blogging back and forth with each other, and she's got the cutest post on Chuck E Cheese and biscuit containers as well. Gave me a good chuckle AND great encouragement and bet it will you, as well.  […]

I feel as though I have just met a “kindred spirit.” (ha) I plan to visit often and found you through the UBP11. I *love* the title of your Blog — so much meaning in so few words.

Would enjoy a visit from you at http://www.makingithomewebzine.com/blog where I have a special page called “Loving on Jesus” just because He’s so wonderful to write/talk/speak about.

Stopping by from the UBP (late as usual). Thanks for visiting me. I am impressed at how long you have been blogging, I don’t think I even knew what a blog was in 2006.
