A2Z Meme: If We Waited

This little ‘ole meme is about to bite the dust! Today we blog about the letter “W.”

For me, it’s about waiting.

Oh, how I hate it.

I joke that grocery stores should have some kind of scan that if the lines are too busy, we can kind of wave with our groceries, say, “catch you next time” and pay for those things when the line is smaller. Where did I get that idea? Waiting in line.

I also call myself Sarah, Plan B, after Sarah in the Bible. She couldn’t wait for God to fulfill His promises over Abraham regarding him being the Father of Nations, so she took matters into her own hands. It only added drama, grief, and regret.

WAITING would have been WISER.

I couldn’t take the two week wait my fiance and I had before he moved closer to me. I’m the one that can handle things when it is long off, but when I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, I want the waiting to be done, or I’m tempted to bolt. I was the same way with my second c-section.

As I learn more about myself, read, and mentor others, I believe wait is a bigger topic/issue in our lives than we pay attention to. I tell people Judge Judy would be out of business if the world waited. Think about it.

If we waited, relationships wouldn’t sour and become awkward because things moved too fast.

If we waited, we’d have financial provision instead of borrowing from friends or taking on debt we can’t re-pay.

If we waited, we’d have quality people doing top notch work for us and our homes.

If we waited, we’d have resisted saying that thing, throwing that punch, or doing that deed we can’t take back.

Those are the themes for Judge Judy and the like, and it’s a good eye opener for me.

Waiting has purpose.

Our souls have holes that long to be filled.

And I’m pretty sure if we waited and asked the Creator of our soul for His opinion on how to fill that gap, we’d have a lot less regret.

And a lot less court TV shows.
