Characteristics of Jealousy
Jealousy poses a difficult problem for relationships, both monogamous and no monogamous. It is oftentimes a point of discord within relationships. It also leads to break ups in various cases. The abusive partners get the excuses from this towards their behavior. There is a lasting association of jealousy with violence. The mental strain, tension and wildness encompassing jealousy are signs that jealousy is an important cause of social power transfer. Even though little bit jealousy can be positive but excessive jealousy can be damaging. The characteristics of jealous people are basically the same irrespective of the complexity of time, distance and space.
INDIFFERENCE
You are having a discourse with an opposite sex and suddenly you observe that your partner becomes too silent or acts as if he is not concerned. He may stress himself to inhibit his jealousy by acting in that manner, doing his level best to conceal it from you. If he behaves weird and strange afterwards, suppose by avoiding you or fighting with you for no reason then yes he was jealous.
LACK OF SELF RESPECT
Most of the times, when a jealous man gets his woman, he lacks the belief that
he can keep her. He always thinks that his woman will be taken
from him by someone else. This happens generally because of a very low confidence,
lack of self-esteem, little or no self-respect. The jealous has the inferiority complex which makes his psychology to have the belief that he does not deserve his partner.
SUDDEN MOOD CHANGE
Jealous people experience the mood swings quite often. Suppose you are sitting with your partner and you got a call from one of your male friends, you will clearly see a sudden mood change in your partner. Similarly if somebody from opposite sex praises you their mood gets spoiled all of a sudden.
ATTRIBUTING INCORRECT TRAITS
Jealous people always give false attributes in their jealous world, about their objects of jealousy. So if they see a person who is very intelligent their jealously makes them deduce that he must be arrogant. Similarly if somebody has beautiful hair they think that he must spend all his time on his hair (when maybe, he just wakes up and combs it). If somebody has children who are well mannered a jealous person may need to believe those parents are controlling.
HATEFUL MIND
Jealousy makes the mentality of people wierd and they begin to hate the people they don’t know, think awful things about people who aren’t awful, and enjoy the trouble of people just because the jealous person believes that other deserves some trouble.
ISOLATION FROM OTHERS
One of the worst issues about jealousy is that, it makes people assume that everyone must be like them unpleasant and miserable. But when he thinks like that the person knows, in the heart of his hearts, he is lying to himself, and that he is living in the miserable world of his own and thus gets isolated from this real world.
As is the case with negative emotions, jealousy should also be stopped the second it shows up and substituted with thinking that is more worthy. We must put our thinking caps on and try to live in the beautiful world of our own without bothering about other things.
