WFW: Never, Ever Give Up
Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality. Romans 12:12, The Message

I read this verse in a devotional for Lent and it really grabbed me. It’s so easy to burn out and worry with all the current events. But that’s not the command, not if you proclaim Christ as Savior.
I don’t know the true motive behind this Photobucket image but I’m going to make it work for me. I want to set others on fire with a passion to live free. I know the roadmap how to get there.
His name is Jesus and His destination because of love was the cross.
For His sacrifice, the very least I can do is be on fire and keep praying. Be inventive and unique as long as I’m led by Him. Make a difference. Believe God. Surrender daily.
And never, ever give up.
I like that one, and I have recently been reading The Message for the first time. (the translation, I’ve read the Bible many times)
Happy WFW!
What a word of encouragement! Thank you!
“I want to set others on fire with a passion to live free.” Me, too, Julie! Me too!!! That’s my heart’s desire!! May it be so, Lord!!
Love this!!
I did the same thing last year, using The Message as my translation for the Bible in a Year. I learned a lot from it. Thanks Lizzie for stopping by!
Thank you Dorie! I appreciate you stopping by to leave a kind comment.
Jenifer, I know, nothing gets me more excited and in awe of Him than watching a woman live free in Christ. Thankful you stopped by today! Blessings to you!
Great verse today! Goes along with what I was reading in my quiet time in Galatians… “don’t grow weary in doing good”. Awesome reminder. Sacrifice. It’s tough, but it should be theme in our lives as Christ followers!!! Thanks for sharing!

I agree, it’s tempting to grow weary but it’s not what we’re called to do. Thanks Chelsey!

Thanks for sharing that beautiful image and verse. Blessings ~
I haven’t read the Message Bible…do you recommend it, or is it a personal preference? Is it all simply worded differently to provide you with a specific message in each verse?
Jennifer,
I do recommend it but not as the only translation you ever read. The Message takes a lot of criticism for taking some liberties, nothing that I personally find makes the Bible less inspired, but I know people get upset. For me it helped me read a contemporary version that has my personality. It’s honest and in your face, so to speak. I loved reading it last year.
Thanks Cathy for visiting!
Joan,
That line is why I breathe. I know what living in bondage is like and freedom is so much sweeter. Thanks for stopping by!
Great post Julie! 🙂
Thanks, I’m so glad you stopped by!
I love how this version said this verse, it reminds me to never stop praying for my family for their salvation and for others.
Great post.
I spend my school days in a sectarian institution so, I’m a bit familiar with the holy bible. I like your post! It encourages everyone who reads it to never give up and reminds us that in times of difficulties God is there. Even if everybody has turned their back on you God will always be there ready to unload your burden and will always help you no matter what you did to him he will always be a loving father.
Thanks for sharing God’s words!
Darah
The holy bible is the only thing I had that reminds me of his divine providence. It makes me feel secure like Julie feels. Sharing good things to others makes me feel great and gives unexplainable joy. I hope that I’ll be able to share thoughts, verse and story like the way Julie did.
Have a great time reflecting. 🙂
Yes, never give up. I once read a story about a man who was digging for gold. Hr had tunnelled for years and found nothing so sold his tunnel and his tools to his brother as a get out. His brother continued digging in the tunnel and found gold within a day – never give up, you might be nearly there and not even know it!
Thanks for sharing that beautiful image and verse. Yes, never give up.
