WFW: Fellow Aliens and Strangers in the World…

Ah, Word-Full Wednesday, how I’ve missed you. Is this your first time seeing a WFW post? Come join us. Each Wednesday post a Bible verse that gives God glory, an image that complements the verse, and a few thoughts if you want as long as the focus is on Him. Link your post url to the Internet Cafe and there you go! Make sure you read the other posts because each week you’ll find it is exactly what you needed to read. Trust me.

The verse is of course, so good, but the image hits home. Last weekend I attended a conference for misfits, the set apart, the pioneers. Rick Pino provided the music and of course sang Pioneer. Those who feel that Pioneer call from God get they are strangers in the world. They might not like it, but they get it. For the longest time I clung to the line in the song that said:

And what you have done, others will do
Bigger and better and faster than you
But you canʼt look back, you gotta keep on pressing through
Thereʼs a wilderness pathway and itʼs calling you

This time around though, God showed me something different. The line that still sticks out and induces hot tears every time I play the song is this:

You travel light and you travel alone
And when you arrive nobody knows
But your Father in heaven, He is glad you can go
Cause those who come after you will need the road

If you’re feeling lonely and something of a misfit believer in the world, don’t despair and definitely don’t join the world’s folly. There is a generation hungry for the Lord and they need you to pave the way. Keep pressing on, pioneer!
