How I Received a Jumpstart
It’s not how you want to start the work/school week yet it made sense for a cold January day. I didn’t know Sunday after a longer day at church than usual that I didn’t shut my door tight once I got home. I tried to start the car and it didn’t even try to start. To make the morning more fun my car was the first in the driveway so I was blocking my husband in. Our cables didn’t reach.
Fun times.
AAA saved the day and soon we were off and running. The fact that my mistake “ruined” everyone’s morning stuck with me and I was struggling. By the time I reached our local bank I was feeling like a big failure. The teller asked about my day so I told her.
She said, “You know what that was? That was the Holy Spirit at work. He didn’t want you on your regular schedule today. You know why there will be so much rejoicing and hallelujahs in heaven? It isn’t just because we will be with Jesus, it’s also because He is going to show us how much He protected us from. And it is going to freak us out into praise.”
That touched me so much I had tears in my eyes when I left, and kept having them as I thought about it throughout the day. I was touched she shared her faith so openly. I’m a customer with Jesus designed checks but I can’t say once I leave they talk about me as the Christian. I’m pretty sure they don’t talk about me at all. She was just to me sharing and being a vessel God used to encourage me.
It hit me as I thought about what she did.
She gave me a jumpstart.
Like what the AAA tech did for my car, that teller gave me positive positive alignment to counteract my negative to negative. I was feeling dead and her words brought life. Because of the jumpstart I was able to log a lot of miles today.
