Sabbath Sunday: Do You Hear Your Invitation?

Each Sunday I share an amateur nature photo that I captured and mix it with a few words on my heart about God’s love for you. I hope this encourages you and takes you to a place of seeking these moments between yourself and God (through the greatest love of all anyone could have for you, His Son, Jesus) every day. That sunset that blows you away? My friend, that’s God showing off.

Just.

For.

You.

This picture is so inviting to me. The colors don’t do the sunset justice, it was brilliant. I was in a church conference ready to walk in a conference when I saw this. I felt like the scene matched my thoughts, my mood, and my circumstances.

Steps away from a wooded area that has no path. Do I dare take the first steps and see what is beyond the trees? Will the sign stop me or give me permission to forge ahead?

What about the trees? Some remain full of promise and abundance as if enjoying the best days. Next to those trees are some that are bare. Those trees seem scary because when all is empty and appearing over, can we believe that this sparse existence has purpose and is only for a season?

Then there is the sky. Gray questions mixed with pink promises. Orange praises dance with purple tranquility. How can one glimpse in a sky reveal so many things? Oh wait, my mind is just like that, all within a matter of seconds.

Deep thought for a parking lot glance? Perhaps, but it was the way the moment spoke to me. I get that I’m a visual worshiper, where music inspires some to burst out in song or write lyrics, I learn from creation.

And take those baby steps closer to the woods where there is no path.

Where God waits ahead, lovingly inviting me to join Him.

Do you hear your invitation?

Don’t forget! This Thursday I start the online book study Captivating through my webinar room. If you have the book, you’re ready to go. If not, it’s best you have it (by John and Stasi Elredge) but don’t decline because you don’t have the book. You can sign in as a guest and I do the rest and I’m great about getting you back to your schedule in an hour. Thursdays, 9pm EST, right here.

Did you know I have a writer page on Facebook? A Google Plus profile? I’d love for you to find me online. Learn more on my contact page.
