In a culture that bombards women with “thinspiration” messages and pressure to “do it all” while wearing the mask of perfection, women are left feeling alone and overwhelmed. How can they stop comparing themselves to others? How can they live out who they really are?
Lee Wolfe Blum offers stories from everyday women who have answered these questions with their lives—and found true beauty in the process. In Brave Is the New Beautiful, Blum weaves reflections from her own journey with inspirational stories from everyday women who chose to take off their masks and live authentically. Through call-to-action questions and ideas, she encourages readers to be brave enough to be who they really are and the beloved that God knows they are.
There’s nothing that inspires me more than reading other people’s stories. I love when there are anecdotes and testimonies full of encouragement that leave me with an attitude that I can do this. BRAVE IS THE NEW BEAUTIFUL is a wonderful encouragement because it offers hope among the pages.
The author shares different stories about overcoming, and they inspire. They are transparent, but not depressing. Each story is just right in length, yet you get the details needed.
Lee Wolfe Blum is a new-to-me author, but now she’s on my radar. I look forward to more, and I definitely recommend this book.
Take a Chance on Claire Gibson Hi. I’m Claire. You might have already seen me at the Deep Haven pizza joint – Pierre’s Pizza. I make a mean Spinach Pizza. I also tend the flowers at the Deep Haven Community Gardens. Yeah, that’s right, exciting stuff. I’m going places. Actually, okay, I know that’s…
THE MESSAGE OF JESUSI It was exciting this year to realize a lifelong dream by publishing my first book. No, it will never reach the New York Times best seller list. It will probably never win a contest, but the presence of it on Amazon symbolizes a great accomplishment for me. Cathy’s Christmas Confession is…
It’s time to announce the winner of the Passion: Salvation’s Tide is Rising CD. This was fun. For one, you all were kind enough to leave comments. Yay, you! If you want me to keep doing giveaways (I’m often asked and usually decline for lack of interest,) leave a comment so I know you’re paying…
Surrender to Peace by Rose Allen McCauley Surrender to Peace is the title of my latest contemporary romance set in lovely Puerto Rico, and it is also something I think Christ taught all Christians to do when he said to “take up your cross daily.” This quote is mentioned in three of the four gospels,…
It was a story I never meant to write, and I struggled every word. When I finally felt I had a decent plot together and tackled it, I came up thirty thousand words short. Yep. Thirty. Thousand. Words. Even after I finished, something still felt off. Not wrong, just off. Once I started pressing in,…
It’s no secret that I loved writing Entrusted and fell in love with the characters. Although Speculator Falls is fictional, Speculator, NY isn’t, and it was the biggest compliment when residents told me I painted such a picture even they thought there was a Speculator Falls! A few years ago while talking with a local…
