Miss Me?

Hi! I promised I would dedicate this space to promoting other authors, and I love that I can do that. Today I’m popping in because I have a feeling you aren’t seeing much of me this summer.
If we are Facebook Friends, on June 30 my account was disabled for suspected cybersecurity issues. Another word used was suspended. I filed an appeal that included video verification. I was told I get one appeal, and it will take “over a day.”
I’m still waiting.
I receive notifications, including one that said my appeal isn’t complete and they would love to my account back online. I clicked the link to make it happen only for it to return back to the appeal page.
It has been frustrating.
I’ve went to Instagram to lighten the situation with little tidbits of what my FB friends are missing.
- I chopped my hair. The humidity is my kryptonite, and even short, it felt so heavy. Above is a recent selfie.
2. I am still waiting on a date for my eye surgery. If you missed that, turns out my congenital cataracts, only diagnosed last year, went wonky in ten months. Add astigmatism and really near-sightedness and it all makes sense. If you see typos, I tried. I can’t see!
3. Good news! I finished Building Hearts. Now that I know about my eyes, I marvel at how I pounded out a 70k book. There were times the laptop was to my nose. But God helped me, I love Evan’s book so much, and I love the cover more. I will have a sneak peek in this month;s newsletter, releasing Thursday. Want to subscribe for free? LinkTree can help.
4. Speaking of Link Tree, this year I got serious about Substack and re-branded my work there. It’s called To Be Honest and I share authentic thoughts in a fake world. My last post was “Thank You “Kevin Costner”.
5. We had a very quick vacation to Wisconsin to see our older kids and grandkids. Pix are on Instagram. We were able to see Oliver play various positions in a game, and James had practice. We loved it. Tom played catch with Oliver and Felix, and Grace met him with a fierce hug second one of our arrival. Elena doesn’t really remember us, but she warmed right up. Even Aunt Hannah got a hug.
6. Each day I think I become more introverted, but when I heard Superman was coming, I looked at all the theater seating situations. I found a near-empty theater and also got Brian to go with me. Brian is a comic book fan and I have loved Superman since 1978. I started to cry almost immediately out of nostalgia, hope, the music, and that dog.
7. This will put you ahead of my Instagram summaries while I wait on FB—it looks like we may add a dog to the family. We lost our senior Chow Lab, Tucker, in February, and that hit me harder than just about anything. We are ready to help Milo be less lonely. Tom has always wanted a Golden, and it looks good that we will be adding a Golden/Doodle to our lives. From what we know, she is more Golden.

That’s everything that is going on that I can’t post on Facebook. If we are Facebook friends, it would mean a lot if you could let folks know I am not there, it isn’t my doing, and I’m working to get back on. I count on marketing my books there, and I haven’t been able to. Dogwood Creek Matchmakers has a new release, Dandelion Serenade by Lori Soard. This is a small-town romance series set in Tennessee, and my first release, Clean Sweep, releases November 1.
Thank you for reading this, and if we are Facebook friends, I miss you! I hope you’re having an amazing summer.
