Summer Read: Beauty by the Book

This year has been weird to say the least. We’ve been home most of it, and the kids learned via computer for months. The last thing I wanted to do this summer is throw a book at my daughter and announce we’d be reading.

But that’s kind of what we’re doing.

Although we found it through Right Now Media, author Laurie Cole also has all the videos to her study, Beauty by the Book for teens available for free on YouTube. Although not a new study, boy is it a gem. We’re watching the videos and going through daily discussion via the study book.

It’s about Proverbs and the five types of women Solomon shares. There are examples we don’t want to emulate, and examples we do.

So far we find the videos and books easy to understand and informative. Last night while watching Hamilton she asked about a character and what was her purpose and I was able to say, I think she’s the immoral woman. Referencing the study helped her understand.
