Thankful for Life by Connie Arnold
Devotional Thoughts on Being Thankful
Give thanks for every heartbeat
and each move you can make,
for life so precious and so sweet,
each vital breath you take.

When something good happens to us, we may remember to give thanks to God. How often do we reach deeply inside and draw out utter gratitude for the very essence of who we are, our every heartbeat and breath, life itself, such precious gifts from God? Most of us are inclined to take things like our hearts beating and breathing for granted unless we develop some illness or difficulty that affects the functioning of those things. May we develop awareness that each aspect of life is a valuable gift from our majestic Creator, and live our lives in a way that shows our appreciation and love to God. Lord, help us to develop a healthy attitude of gratitude and remember to offer you thanks and praise for your many blessings and gifts each day.
