Join Me at Inspy Romance

Posted by Julie on April 9, 2017 in About Me, encouragement, God's Word, Julie Arduini, Life Lessons, Writing |

I’ve often said that I’m a reader and then a writer. When I critique manuscripts, it isn’t as an editor that I go through chapters. I look as a reader. I’m such a fan of books.

As an author, I read a lot of blogs to learn more about the craft. One of my favorite blogs has been Inspy Romance. It’s a blog from Christian authors talking about writing, and their passion is to connect with readers. They write in a style that makes me feel like we’re sitting around a table enjoying a cup of coffee.

And secretly, I wished I could be a part of that team.

I never uttered it because it seemed too lofty. As it is, I write every other Wednesday for Christians Read, and that blog includes some of my favorite Christian authors of all time. I have devoured their books. I do not feel like I’m on the same playing field, let alone same sport. So to want to be part of another great blog? I felt silly.

Yet I felt this year would be about transformation, my word for the year. That new opportunities would blossom out of nowhere. That for the prayers and spiritual battles we’ve stayed obedient with, there would be a new level of faith and favor in our lives. Not a “we get stuff” mentality, but that we would be and feel blessed. It’s hard to explain.

But Inspy Romance came calling.

If you aren’t familiar with this blog, they are focused on readers. They host frequent giveaways. They talk about how their stories came to be. Cover design. Funny stories. And so much more.

My first post is Tuesday, April 11 and I will introduce myself and have a giveaway. I hope you not only read my post, but subscribe to the blog. If you love reading Christian romance, you will enjoy the blog.

Happy Reading!

Ten Years Later

Posted by Julie on December 31, 2016 in About Me, ACFW, COTT, encouragement, God's Word, Julie Arduini, Life Lessons, Writing |

I clearly remember the night. While most people were out for New Year’s, I was staring at the little box on my laptop screen. Clicking the “Create Blog” box in my mind felt as tense as dismantling a bomb.

Around 2006

It was my first act after promising God I was done with fear.

Afraid of what people might think.

Afraid of rejection.

Afraid, afraid, afraid.

I can’t put into words how scary creating that first blog was.

December 31, 2006.

Fast forward, and here we are. A decade later. A blog or two after.

Not afraid.

And so much more.

For years, blogging was my baby. I was content to make that my only writing outlet if that was all God had for me. But it wasn’t. I don’t blog as much as I want to, and I’ve watched blogging popularity ebb and flow as much as my own life has. But I still love it.

2011

I’ve shared parenting journeys from pre school age milestones to teen drama.

Middle school drama to college achievements.

Thirty-something wife and mom to forty-something grandma to-be in 2017.

Seasons of friendships, heartbreak, betrayal, creativity, hardship and mountain views.

Companies wanting my space. And only this year did I agree because I personally use their products and believe in them. I hope you check out iBloom and love them as much as I do.

Oh, and writing.

2016

Anthologies. Gift books. e-How. FaithWriters. ACFW. NaNoWriMo. Spectacular Falls to Entrusted. Entangled. Now, Engaged.

Wow.

I saved the best for last.

You.

I’ve heard from you in comments and on Facebook. Pulled aside at church and through text. E mails. You have been so, so kind.

Let’s keep it going.

Another ten?

How to Create a Life You Love

Posted by Julie on July 7, 2016 in About Me, encouragement, God's Word, Julie Arduini |

I have been an iBloom lurker for years. I read their blog posts, liked their Instagram posts. When I knew that God was switching things up big time with my writing this year, I headed to their site and looked at their resources. Not only did I keep reading all their materials, I took their “Which business woman are you?” quiz and ordered the iBloom planner. I am such a fan of that planner that for the first time ever (I’ve been blogging for nearly a decade and have been courted HARD by businesses,) I said yes when iBloom asked if I was interested in being a partner.

Here is a taste of the many things iBloom offers for women and I love this course because it is for anyone. Stay at home moms. Business owners. Those that work outside the office. If you’re a woman, this course can benefit you. Best news? It’s free (if you use the coupon code below.)I’ve already signed up and am ready to go.

Will you join me? Here’s more information.

Do you love your life? Join me for a life-changing experience with iBloom that will change your life.

You may be in the habit of being grateful. You may even keep a journal just for that purpose. But when your head hits the pillow at night, are you smiling? Exhausted from pouring out your skills & talents into those people and things you love? Or are you just worn out and already dreading the next day?

Yes, we can be grateful in all circumstances but why not do everything you can to LOVE your life while you’re here? Every day is a gift but unless you know the answers to these 3 questions, you may not feel like you are opening up a gift each morning.

Thankful: It’s Hard to Pick Just One by Jill Barlow

Posted by Julie on November 18, 2014 in Guest blogger, Life Lessons, Thankful November guest blogger, Writing |

In the beginning of 2013, I felt led to start my own blog. I wrote about God, but nothing in particular. I also ended up going through a divorce that year, which completely changed my life. I was married for 19 years. I was a stay at home mom for a great deal of that time. The last 3 years had been dedicated to my three children, because we pulled them out of public school to home school.

As I sit and type this up, I am thankful for so many things. It is hard to pick just one.

I am thankful for my Heavenly Father who has gotten me through the rough spots. This  journey we call life is not an easy one. Being a Christian is not a “get out of trouble” free card. We are still going to have hard times. Jesus even said, in John 16: 33, “33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”john16_33

It’s not an IF, it’s a WHEN type thing. God is always here for us, no matter what.

I am also thankful for my children, friends and family. Without them, I don’t know where I would be. They have made me laugh, hugged me as I cried and told me the truth when I did not want to hear it.

God has really moved in my life and heart over the past several months. He has started talking to me in every day ways. I have started writing those things for others to see that He is there, daily. He cares about our daily lives and He just wants to help us make it to tomorrow.

Take a moment and think about what you are thankful for. Maybe it’s totally different from me. And, guess what? That’s ok.
