The Buzz Surrounding Lysa TerKeurst’s Made to Crave
Right off the bat I’m disclosing Zondervan chose me as a dvd reviewer for Lysa TerKeurst’s Made to Crave. I got the dvd yesterday and haven’t even popped it in the dvd player yet.
This is not my review.
That said, I felt compelled to share what I’m sensing, seeing and feeling in case this book is on your radar. I’ve started the book and I’ve been taking all kind of notes during Lysa’s Monday 8pm EST free webcasts at MadetoCrave.org.
This is what I’m sensing: God has an awakening in the works and is using Made to Crave to see it through. Women are hungry in a new way, a way cake can’t satisfy. Single, married, divorced, north, south, stay at home, work outside the home, it doesn’t matter. Women want more. They are realizing they are worth something in God’s eyes. They are ready for a change.
The bonus praise is that women are losing weight and generally feeling better because their focus is on God. The book isn’t a diet and Lysa’s point is definitely not for readers to be obsessed with the scale or the skinny jeans—whether or not they fit or are hanging in your closet.
If this sounds like you and you don’t have the book, you might want to act fast. I’ve been hearing around cyberspace that because this is a NYT bestseller, it’s a hard book to find. Made to Crave can’t stay on the shelves fast enough. It’s a good problem to have. The ladies in the small group through my church attest to this. I’ve had one woman say the book she purchased was the last one and the clerk said it is flying off the shelves.
I recommend you find a group to enjoy this book with and keep you encouraged and accountable. If you want a cyber group I joined Melissa Taylor’s group. She has it set up so that if you are starting later, previous posts are there and you are more than welcome to leave comments or just lurk around. She has a wonderful testimony saying she thought maybe 30 ladies or so would sign up.

I have my own testimony regarding just the little amount I’ve read. But…a girl has to keep her secrets for her small group, so once I share my story with them, I’ll be sure to share with you at a later date. I can say God is doing the impossible within me.
