SheSpeaks Product Review: Aveda Smooth Infusing Naturally Straight

Thanks to SheSpeaks and Aveda, I was able to try the Aveda Smooth Infusing Naturally Straight.

progressively straightens curls with every use

  • As you blow-dry your hair, plant-derived fibers help create a locking layer to help hold your hair straight, day after day*
  • Organic cassava root helps form a barrier against intense humidity to help you forget about frizz
  • Straight styling becomes faster and easier

*After 5 consecutive applications of naturally straight, hair will stay straight for up to 3 washes.

My hair tends to get wavy as it grows and with the cut I like, I want it straight. I wasn’t sure what this would do for me, but I have to say, the results were immediate and impressive.

The first thing I noticed was the shine. My hair felt smooth and sleek. I’ve read some reviews that complained about the fragrance, I didn’t notice anything unpleasant. I did notice my hair was straighter.

My daughter’s hair has a bit more curl. I asked if she could be my guinea pig and she obliged.

August2014birthday2Although not taken the same day, this gives a clue of the curl in her hair, especially the ends.

September2014Aveda I saw a difference as I dried her hair. So did she. She was thrilled to see with straighter hair, it looked longer.

This doesn't do it justice but the shine is obvious, and it is straighter.

This is without applying it exactly as directed—which should be by sections and from root to end. I was in a hurry so I took a dab and worked it in quickly. This is also without a flat iron, which you can use after if you want. But still, I think the results are pretty good.

SheSpeaks asked if I would buy this again. I really liked it. I don’t think I need it for my hair so much, but I still use it. My daughter loves it. At $26 I find that pretty steep, but I know Aveda has a quality reputation. For using a dime size I will get my money’s worth. So yes, I probably would.

I wish my step-daughter lived closer because she has very curly hair. I’d love to see the results on her.

I’m fairly sure I’d be impressed.

And I think you would be, too.
