CHECK THIS OUT: Angel Beneath My Wheels by K.S. Moore

Posted by Julie on July 26, 2016 in encouragement, God's Word, Julie Arduini, Life Lessons, surrender |

Julie’s Note: I love to introduce readers to new-to-them authors and books. Each month I try to accomplish that with the Check This Out feature. I hope you take a look at Angel Beneath My Wheels!

Bio: Kathryn Moore grew up working on cars with her father in Indianapolis and now lives in southwest Michigan with her husband, two children and a little Yorkie named Bear. She is a graduate of Purdue University where she studied information technology, engineering, and chemistry. When she’s not working, writing or serving in her local youth ministry, she enjoys the outdoors with family and friends.

Through her writing, Moore strives is to bridge the gap between Christian literature and mainstream best sellers, to depict contemporary Christians in real-life stories of love, drama, action and adventure, to show (not tell!) what it means to live a Christ-centered life in today’s culture, and to provide wholesome fodder for more family-friendly movies.

A prolific reader, she’s always enjoyed the escape of a really good book and four years ago decided to try her hand at writing one of her own. Her first book, Angel Beneath My Wheels, was released on February 29th, 2016. If you’d like to receive her monthly short stories called Touches, join her mailing list here.

Angel Beneath My Wheels by K.S. Moore

Angel Beneath My Wheels by KS Moore

Book Blurb:

Beneath his playboy façade, young NASCAR driver Luke Brandt yearns for a family. Rachel Tate, an inventive, purity-ring-wearing mechanical engineer, is determined to prove herself in a male dominated industry. When Luke outbids Rachel on the only two muscle cars she could use to test her new vapor-fueled engine, she wants nothing to do with him. But Luke’s gentle ways and down home country charm just might win her over—if his painful past doesn’t push her away.

When she begins to touch his heart, he’s haunted by bitter memories of the only woman he’s ever loved—the mother who abandoned him as a little boy. With an intense trust that God will lead her on life’s journey, Rachel perseveres, her innocence and grace breach his defenses and his walls begin to crumble. As they join forces to bring her remarkable invention to market, their love, their very lives, are threatened by the iron-tight grip that “Big Oil” holds over the whole auto industry and Luke realizes his final happiness must come through faith, in the One who has always loved him… and always will.

Endorsements:

“Creating stories has always been a powerful tool to communicate truths that need to be heard in a relevant way. Angel Beneath My Wheels captivates you and takes you on an ages old journey of the potential to discover trust lost. Often hidden beneath the surface of our personas we create resides, in many of us, a need to trust once again, and in the process receive healing. Kathryn has written a wonderful and creative novel that will take you beyond fiction to fact… that trust is healing, and when built upon a foundation of faith in Christ, saving, and conquering.” ~ Billy E. Mauldin Jr., President and CEO, Motor Racing Outreach, co-author of The Race: Living Life on Track

Kathryn Sue Moore’s inspiring debut, Angel Beneath My Wheels, is brimming with romance, passion, and heart. With a spunky protagonist who can turn heads and change carburetors how cool is that?! Christian romance readers and NASCAR fans will flock to this charming, uplifting novel. ~ Lori Nelson Spielman, best-selling author of The Life List and Sweet Forgiveness

Having been married for more than 40 years, and having ministered to late-stage cancer patients for more than 10 years, I had thought that perhaps my heart might have lost its ability to be moved and made emotionally vulnerable. Angel Beneath My Wheels reminded me of the sweetness and innocence of first love.” My heart was touched by this story and I believe yours will be too. ~ Rev. Dr. Michael Barry, author of A Reason for Hope, A Season for Hope, The Art of Caregiving and The Forgiveness Project

Surrender to Peace by Rose Allen McCauley

Posted by Julie on June 23, 2016 in encouragement, God's Word, Guest blogger, Julie Arduini, Life Lessons, surrender |

Surrender to Peace by Rose Allen McCauley

Surrender to Peace is the title of my latest contemporary romance set in lovely Puerto Rico, and it is also something I think Christ taught all Christians to do when he said to “take up your cross daily.” This quote is mentioned in three of the four gospels, so I think it is definitely something Christ wants us to emulate. Just as Jesus prayed, “Not my will, but Thine” in the Garden before he left to be tried and nailed to a cross, (Matt. 26:39) we all need to give up our own wills to the Father in all things.

At the beginning of the story, my character, Joy Worth, has just flown to Puerto Rico on her “un-honeymoon” after she was jilted a week before her wedding. As she has more time to think and pray in this tropical paradise, she comes to realize she stopped listening to God’s Spirit months before when she became engaged to a guy who wouldn’t even go to church with her. Was that the turning point in her relationship with God? She spends her time touring the lovely island and reading her Bible and praying to hear His Voice again.

I hope you will read the rest of the story to find out her journey to surrender. And to learn more about this beautiful island which is an American commonwealth. Some of the reviewers have said they felt like they were touring the island with Joy and Benigno, her Christian guide.

Happy reading, and happy surrender because that is the only way to be truly happy!

Celebrate Summer with a FREE and .99 Read!

Posted by Julie on June 19, 2016 in About Me, Julie Arduini |

Oneday_editedNOTE: If you receive this blog via email, the sale might already have started.

Although Ohio has seen 90+ temps already (and snow in May,) it is now summer. One of my favorite things to do is watch our daughter swim and have a book on the deck.

And now, I want to put a couple books in YOUR hands.

If you enjoy the feel of a “real” book, I priced ENTRUSTED and ENTANGLED so you could buy both and spend less than $20. Typically, you would see a full length novel sell for $15 each. I believe that much in these stories getting to people and changing lives.

If you have a Kindle, or a tablet, laptop, desktop or phone that you use for reading, I am having a sale on the ebook versions of ENTRUSTED and ENTANGLED Monday, June 20 and Tuesday, June 21. Remember, if you don’t have a Kindle, download the FREE Kindle app to your device and start reading!

ENTRUSTED will be FREE. Yep, no cost at all.

ENTANGLED will be .99. You can purchase both books in the Surrendering Time Series (book 3, ENGAGED, due later this year) for .99 ebooks. That’s how to say hello to summer!

“You need to go home, city-girl. You don’t belong.”

Jenna Anderson, sassy city-girl from Youngstown, Ohio, plows–literally–into Adirondack village, Speculator Falls, with a busted GPS and a determination to fit in as the newest resident. She wants to live a life without regret and make a difference. Moving to become the senior center director is the biggest risk she’s ever taken, and she believes her ideas are worth investing in. The senior citizens have been hurt by the last director, so Jenna has to work hard to earn their trust. When they embrace her, she thinks it’s time to show the seniors she intends to stay and make the center beautiful for them.

Town councilman and grocer Ben Regan is as broken as the flower box Jenna demolished. He’s grieving from the double loss of his grandfather’s passing and his former girlfriend leaving town without saying goodbye. His grief is so strong he wants to shut down the senior center before there’s too much change and heartbreak. Re opening the senior center and hiring a new director was never his plan. Jenna isn’t a Speculator Falls local and she has too many plans that will cost money the village doesn’t have. She’s too excited about his dream to expand the store his grandfather built. The harder he tries to keep Jenna at a distance, the more they are thrown together to work on community projects. They build a slow relationship, but the council needs to vote on the senior center’s future. Can Jenna show Ben both her and the center are worth trusting?

“You need to leave me alone. It’s the least you can do.”

Carla Rowling has been given her dream of attending cosmetology school. The gift is so generous she feels unworthy because of choices she made as a teen. The pressure mounts as Carla juggles school, is a single mom, helps her best friend Jenna plan her wedding, spends time with boyfriend Will Marshall, and deals with the fact that her son’s father is back in their lives.

Will Marshall is the one Speculator Falls resident everyone can count on. His truck deliveries are reliable. He’s the first to help friends like Ben Regan with boat work or be a card partner with Bart Davis. Will’s ready to settle down with Carla, loving her is natural. He’s bonded with her son, Noah. But when Carla starts cosmetology school, she puts emotional distance between her and Will.

Can Carla release her past and create a future full of highlights, or, will she burn her options worse than a bad perm?

COTT: Dressed for Death by Julianna Deering

Posted by Julie on March 21, 2016 in COTT, Guest blogger, Julie Arduini, Life Lessons, Writing |
A recency-ero costume party should be no more than an amusing diversion,
but it seems, wherever Drew Farthing goes, mystery–and murder–are on the
guest list.

Dressed for Death by Julianna Deering

Drew and Madeline Farthering arrive at a Regency-Era house party at
Winteroak House, excited to be reunited with old friends, including Drew’s
former Oxford classmate Talbot Cummins. Tal is there with his fiancée,
Alice Henley, and though many present seem worried about the couple, nobody
is prepared when Alice dies from an apparent overdose. Tal refuses to
believe she’d taken the drugs intentionally, and a dark question arises of
whether the death is an accident or murder. The police have their own
information though, and Drew is shocked when they arrest someone he’s
trusted and admired since his childhood—someone who’s been smuggling drugs
into the country for years. Stunned by what has happened, Tal begs Drew to
get to the bottom of everything, but Drew’s never felt more unsettled.
Questioning his own ability to see people as they really are, Drew doesn’t
know who to trust, and he’s not ready for the secrets he’s about to
uncover—or the danger he’ll bring down on everyone he holds
dear.
PURCHASE
About the author:
JULIANNA DEERING has always been an avid reader and a lover of
storytelling, whether on the page, the screen or the stage. This, along
with her keen interest in history and her Christian faith, shows in her
tales of love, forgiveness and triumph over adversity. A fifth-generation
Texan, she makes her home north of Dallas with three spoiled cats and, when
not writing, spends her free time quilting, cross stitching and watching
NHL hockey.
