WFW: Revelation 21:2-4 Welcome to Our Real Home
Yay! It’s not just Wednesday, it’s Word Full Wednesday. This is the day of the week where you share an image and a verse from God’s word with the purpose of giving Him glory. Then link up with the Internet Cafe.
I love this image because it emphasizes a point I was explaining last night to a group of women about how amazing God is and how deep His love is for each of us. By the way, this image is breathtaking if you visit my homepage and not just this post. At the top is a slideshow of images and I’m telling you, it takes my breath away to see the multitudes and know this is part of my amazing future.
I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. Revelation 21:2-4
The example I gave came from the Left Behind series by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye. Years after reading it I can still picture all the characters from the books who were persecuted for their faith finally receiving their heavenly welcome. The masses were greeted and yet each individual heard their name and felt the depth of Christ’s love for them. It’s a scenario I won’t forget, and this verse and image make me long for my real home all the more.
Worthy is the Lamb who sits on the throne, holy, holy is He…
GIRL…that is powerful! And until we are “home” we will begin a revival! Praying for you! 🙂 ((hugs)) lori
Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus.
Hi Julie, Great post for Word-Filled Wednesday. One of my favorite old praise and worship hymn songs has always been “I’m But a Stranger Here, Heaven is My Home.” I’ve enjoyed sharing it with with my grandchildren in the past when we talked about how wonderful heaven is and how Jesus died and rose again so we can go to be in heaven with God forever. I’m so glad you reminded me of that, because it would be a great addition to our Lent activities and ideas this year. Thank you for a delightful visit.
Hey I am trying to find the picture that is posted above but I cant seem to! It really is an amazing picture showing Gods truth!
Do you think you can send it to me please?
