REVIEW:

Lauren Daigle’s Christmas Under the Stars special is just that. Special. Starting off with a lively rendition of “Jingle Bells,” Lauren and her band waste no time putting the audience into the Christmas spirit. They continue with favorites like “Away in a Manger,” “The Christmas Song,” and “O Holy Night,” to name a few.

Highlights for me were a different arrangement of “A Little Drummer Boy” and a New Orleans inspired “Rudolph” that reminded me of seeing Harry Connick, Jr. live singing the same song.

Sprinkled throughout the concert are Lauren’s reflections on the season and family traditions. They are short, and I thought mixed perfectly with the music.

The time went fast because the music was so enjoyable. Her voice is amazing, and yet the band and back-up-singers are just as talented and she gives them due credit. If you’re a Lauren Daigle fan, you will love every second. If you enjoy a big band sound, this is right up your alley. Same for New Orleans jazz inspiration. If you want a straight-up Christmas special, this is the one.

Her song, You Say, brings tears every time I listen to it. I haven’t heard her Christmas Album, but I’d love to have it.
