Rooted in the confession of Isaiah 26:8, Passion exists to glorify God by uniting students in worship, prayer and justice for spiritual awakening in this generation. From its start in 1995, the Passion Movement has had a singular mission–calling students from campuses across the nation and around the world to live for what matters most. This yearly conference uses live worship music and teaching to encourage young people to live for the glory of God. In 1998, Passion decided to document the musical portion of the annual conferences via live worship recordings — raw, in-your-face praise songs with an alternative edge.

My Review:

This isn’t my first listen to a Passion album and it isn’t my last. There is something, though, that stands out before I even pushed play on Salvation’s Tide is Rising. I think the title is a decree, a proclamation, an encouragement and a hope.

Each song only magnifies the stirring. Starting off with Kristian Stanfill and the title track, I experienced the music. I didn’t just listen. It’s hard to explain but it was as if the words and the music synced to my heart. There is so much that resonates, every song felt like, “Yes! This is where I am. This is where the church is.” Just when I had a favorite, the next song played.

This is a standout album that will be one I will play until I’ve worn it out and my gadgets refuse to play it anymore.

I don’t just highly recommend Passion: Salvation’s Tide is Rising, I am telling you if Jesus is Your Savior, if you are an intercessor or worship person, get your hands on this now. And if Jesus isn’t on your radar, but you’re curious, I challenge you to listen in a quiet place and ask God to speak to you.

I promise after listening to Salvation’s Tide is Rising, you won’t be the same.

Because my New Year’s Resolution was “to win more stuff”. I didn’t hit the PowerBall, so God was just allowing me to have more patience and bless me with winning this Passion CD…

  2. Julie

    You never know!

I saw a meme today of a scowling Kanye West (as if he has another face) that said something like don’t bug me, I didn’t plan on coming to work today because I thought I was winning the PowerBall. LOL.

    Thanks for reading, Rob!

  3. pat

I was going to write something serious, as to what I am going through, but decided that I would just say if you ever give up your chocolate I will take it, and wear it proudly, and I would love to win the cds because I need some new worship for my car, seems like that’s the place I can truly be alone with the Lord,

  4. SHIRLEY DILKS

I HAVE BEEN HAVING A SLUMP IN MY LIFE LATELY. TOO MUCH TO DO & TOO LITTLE ENERGY, I LISTEN TO CHRISTIAN MUSIC ONLINE THAT I HEAR SUNDAY MORNING AT CHURCH. I GOOGLE A SONG & IT JUST TAKES OFF WITH OTHER SONGS IN MOST CASES. IT IS LIKE AN OASIS IN MY HECTIC DAY .I LOVE CHRISTIAN MUSIC IT IS LIKE IT SOOTHES MY SOUL. THAT IS MY REASON FOR WANTING THE CD. GOD BLESS

  5. Julie

I definitely relate to these things. I love to worship in the car. A true sanctuary. Thanks for sharing, Pat!

  6. Julie

Great answer, Shirley. Oasis is a great image. I love it. Thanks for sharing!

  7. Noreen Sevret

I believe it will stir up more passion for worshiping God in my soul as I live out the days given to me… I’m sitting here wishing I could listen right now……but all I have to listen to is the dog at my feet licking his chops and wishing I would share my chocolate cupcake with him. Too bad it’s only the empty wrapper because I already ate the cupcake! 🙂

  8. Julie

LOL. My dog is sleeping but if I had a cupcake to unwrap, he’d be up! The CD is so stirring. I can’t say enough.

  9. I adore Passion music. My youth pastor said this cd was different (and better) in exactly the same way you did. Less rock, more Rock, if you will. I’d love to have my own copy without having to pay for it! (just being honest. 🙂 )

  10. Amy McLaughlin

Since I am a travelling SLP, I would love to have this CD to listen to in my car. It would be a blessing for me to have it, as well as a blessing to all others who get to hear my beautiful singing voice as I sing at the top of my lungs ( that last part was my attempt at humor as my singing voice is NOT one of my God-given talents, but I will sing anyway) !!!!

  11. Summer

I am in the process of trying find some new music for my upcoming mission trip to Africa in February. I haven’t heard of Passion before but looking at the track list has me pretty interested! Since my word forn2016 is purpose I am trying to be purposeful in all that I say and do which includes what enters my mind and body-even through song. I find myself so easily singing along to the “top hits”. Some are harmful but there are some really sneaky or even blatantly questionable lyrics in others. Thanks for all of the encouraging words and for keeping me laughing through your writing!

I get what your youth pastor is saying, less rock, more rock. Passion Music really is good.

  13. Julie

I too love to sing along, especially in the car, and bonus if the kids are in it! Thank you, Amy!

  14. Julie

    Summer,
Thank YOU for being an encouragement. I love that word, and I can’t wait to hear about Africa.
